Andrew King
Summerset
Andrew has been in the construction industry for about 30, working across Tier 1 and Tier 2 commercial projects throughout New Zealand. Starting his career hands-on at 15, he gained early experience in aluminium fabrication, landscaping, and spent 7 years with Ramset Fasteners before completing his adult carpentry apprenticeship at 30. In 26 years, he has worked for 3 companies: Arrow International, Hawkins, and now Summerset, where he is Group Construction Manager. Over 17 years at Hawkins (Tier 1), Andrew delivered major builds including prisons, police and fire stations, airport terminals, seismic upgrades, and more. Now at Summerset, he oversees the delivery of large-scale retirement villages across the country. Andrew brings deep insight into what construction companies look for in trade partners — including scaffolding contractors — and what it takes to deliver high-quality, compliant builds at scale.
